Tacoma, located on the saltwater banks of Puget Sound, is popular with all types of people. Not only does the city offer up a lot of fun activities to do year-round, but it also has great natural elements which visitors and residents seems to enjoy. Uniquely known for it’s glass art scene, the city of Tacoma, located in the state of Washington, is both interesting and eclectic due to it’s historic significance as well as modern urban feel. There are tons of museums to peruse through, amazing theater and performing arts to watch, lots of shops and restaurants to go to, and of course, a wealth of natural elements to behold. Some of these natural elements include over 700 acres at Point Defiance Park, great hiking trails and boating, kayaking, a combined zoo and aquarium for the whole family to enjoy, and biking. And, since the city of Tacoma is such a natural paradise, you might even get the chance to see local wildlife hanging around!
There are several neighborhoods in Tacoma which include 6th Ave, Ruston Way Waterfront, Downtown, Proctor, and Stadium. 6th Ave is known for it’s dynamic hipster scene which has several fun happy hour places, as well as a few yummy coffee shops and eateries. Ruston Way Waterfront is a great place for couples to hang out, it’s full of lovely restaurants and pretty waterfront landscapes. There are also several sidewalks in the area perfect for taking long and romantic walks. Downtown is another area which is the place to find all the best glass art around! Tacoma is famous for having the best glass art in the world, and Downtown Tacoma is just the place to find it. Along with amazing glass art, the Downtown area of Tacoma boasts historic architecture as well as several great museums and theaters. Proctor is an area in Tacoma which has more of a small-town feel. There are lots of neighborhood shops, family-run stores, and privately-owned restaurants in Proctor, as well as The Proctor Farmer’s Market which is held every saturday from 9am-2pm. The last area on the list is Stadium, which is the main historic district in Tacoma. Walking around Stadium is like stepping into a different time period with several noteworthy landmarks, a botanical conservatory, and great places to eat and drink.
